Guided Tours

The Geology Museum is a popular tour destination on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus. From kindergarten classes through adult civic groups, our tours are tailored to deliver age-appropriate content to each group. Tours are approximately one hour long and feature hundreds of rock and mineral specimens, a black light mineral display and skeletons from dinosaurs and Ice Age animals. Admission to the museum is free, but for our guided tours we have a fee of $2 per person.

We are currently scheduling guided tours for Fall 2021, with limitations. At this time, groups must be:

  • 7th grade or older
  • 25 people or less
  • Masked at all times while in the building
    (mask covering mouth and nose)

If you are interested in scheduling a guided group tour, please email tours@geology.wisc.edu at least two weeks in advance of when you would like to visit.
